LiveAction is excited to announce the latest release of LiveNX 25.1, packed with new capabilities designed to improve network observability, security assurance, and cross-platform flexibility. This release delivers key innovations that empower IT and network operations teams to gain deeper insights, optimize performance, and streamline troubleshooting. Here’s a look at the major enhancements in LiveNX 25.1.

Major Capabilities

1. DDI Dashboard for deep insights into your DNS/DHCP infrastructure health

LiveNX 25.1 introduces the DDI Dashboard, enabling customers to gain deep visibility into their DNS and DHCP infrastructure health. This powerful tool helps IT teams quickly identify and resolve operational and performance issues, ensuring network reliability and efficiency. By providing a comprehensive DDI health score, LiveNX allows users to proactively monitor and address potential concerns before they impact business operations.

Key Capabilities:

  • A focused LiveNX native and Grafana dashboard that surfaces DNS and DHCP operational and performance issues in your network. It provides a DDI health score to proactively monitor DDI performance and operational health, enabling users to take proactive action.
  • These issues are detected via DNS/DHCP network experts in LiveWire and delivered as OTEL events to LiveNX for enhanced visibility and timely remediation.

2. LiveNX Assurance–Network Security: ensuring firewall and load balancer uptime and resiliency

LiveNX Assurance–Network Security is an advanced capability that automatically identifies, troubleshoots, and remediates errors and misconfigurations in your firewalls and load balancers before they disrupt the network These new capabilities extend beyond LiveNX’s existing flow monitoring and diagnostics, delivering a knowledge expert system that proactively detects hidden issues to prevent outages.

LiveNX Assurance runs natively on LiveNX, ensuring these vital network components remain highly available, secure, and performant.

For Firewalls:

  • Preventive health checking: LiveNX Assurance continuously assesses the health of firewalls to identify lurking issues and address them before they impact services. For example, it leverages machine learning to detect anomalies in packet drop counters, providing early indications of potential issues such as asymmetric routing and flow policy denial problems.
  • External critical services: Firewalls have near real-time dependency on many external services. They import objects (such as IP addresses, URLs, and domains) from an external web server to protect against malicious hosts. They need the latest preventative intelligence to protect the networks before threats become widespread. It is important to monitor the connection to these critical services.
  • High Availability Assurance: Detects configuration mismatches or connectivity issues across clustered firewalls to ensure seamless failover.
  • Security Risk Detection: Identifies security risks and compliance violations using automation and security control validations, enhancing the organization’s security posture.
  • Automated Troubleshooting: When issues arise, LiveNX Assurance conducts root cause analysis and provides actionable remediation steps, minimizing downtime and optimizing network performance.
  • Security Risk Detection: Identifies security risks and compliance violations using automation and security control validations, enhancing the organization’s security posture.

By automating these processes, LiveNX Assurance enables IT teams to transition from reactive responses to proactive security measures, reducing downtime and mean time to resolution (MTTR).

For Load Balancers:

  • Preventive Health Checking: LiveNX Assurance continuously checks the health of components at both the virtual and physical layers. The goal is for IT operations teams to minimize the impact of issues and avoid bigger problems before they happen. Sample common issues detected include pool-member unavailable or latency too high, pool operating at low capacity, SNAT pool near exhaustion, virtual server down or no objects. It uses machine learning to detect anomalies in connection counts, which may indicate a potential DDoS attack, traffic surge or load or misconfiguration.
  • Misconfiguration: of devices, virtual servers, member pools, or any dependent services can play a significant role in unplanned downtime and impact the seamless delivery of critical applications. LiveNX Assurance continuously detects misconfigurations by verifying against a gold standard for the network. It continuously assesses devices for alignment with configuration recommendations from F5 and seasoned practitioners.
  • Automate easily forgotten maintenance tasks: Infrastructure operations require ongoing maintenance. Many maintenance tasks are unavoidable, and others are sometimes overlooked until it’s too late. To ensure overall system health and optimal functioning, tasks that need to be performed regularly or intermittently—such as configuration backups or certificate renewals—can be initiated or checked for and subsequently alerted on.

By proactively managing load balancer health and performance, Live Assurance helps organizations maintain application accessibility, ensure optimal traffic distribution, and prevent network congestion.

LiveNX Assurance–Network Security is free for up to 5 devices (Firewalls and Load Balancers) and is co-termed with customers’ LiveNX subscription.

3. Advancing network intelligence with new capabilities in LiveAssist

To improve proactive performance monitoring, LiveNX now supports Dynamic Baseline for Network Delay Alerts. This enhancement enables teams to detect anomalies based on historical trends rather than static thresholds, reducing false positives and ensuring alerts are triggered only when deviations are significant.

4. Multi-Instance Alert Support for Jitter and Packet Loss

LiveNX 25.1 brings expanded alerting capabilities with multi-instance support for Jitter Max, Jitter Avg, and Packet Loss alerts. This feature allows users to set distinct alert conditions for different metrics, providing more granular and actionable insights into network performance.

5. Fast Reporting Enhancements for Deeper Insights

  • Drill-Down Support: Users can now quickly drill down into reports for deeper analysis, enabling faster troubleshooting and root cause identification.
  • Peak Bit & Packet Rate Columns: Fast Reporting now includes peak bit rate and peak packet rate columns, ensuring consistency in data representation and aiding in performance trend analysis.

6. LiveNX Now Available in AWS Marketplace

For customers looking to deploy LiveNX in the cloud, LiveNX 25.1 is now available in the AWS Marketplace as a Bring Your Own License (BYOL) offering. This makes it easier than ever to integrate LiveNX into AWS environments, providing scalable and flexible deployment options.

7. Expanded Platform Support: LiveNX on Nutanix

In addition to AWS, LiveNX 25.1 is now certified to run on Nutanix, offering customers greater flexibility in their infrastructure choices. This ensures that organizations using Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure can seamlessly deploy and operate LiveNX without compatibility concerns.
